Antifa thugs say their violence is necessary because their goals are aimed at fighting “Nazi” ideologies, and the ends therefore justify the means.
The ends justify the means — such a powerful persuader. In fact, it’s the very same motivation that drove Adolf Hitler, the king of the Nazis, to commit his own human extermination atrocities.
But far be it to point out the hypocrisies of the antifa types. They’re on a mission — and if their mission gets a bit bloody, so be it. It’s for the greater good.
“The justification [for the use of violence] is that Nazi ideology at its very core is founded on violence and on wielding power by any means,” said Mike Isaacson, one of the founders of Smash Racism D.C., an outfit of antifa’s, The Hill reported. “There is the question of whether these people should feel safe organizing as Nazis in public, and I don’t think they should.”
Ghandi, he’s not.
Heck, American he’s not, either.
“I don’t think anyone should think that someone who is intent on politically organizing for the sake of creating a state-sponsored genocide — I don’t think is something that we should protect,” Isaacson went on.
Well, there is that little matter of the First Amendment, and the inherent right to assemble and petition and to exercise one’s freedom of speech.
But self-righteousness trumps all, it seems.
Cloaking violence as a saving grace — masking mayhem as an act of protection and sacrifice for the greater good — pretty much clears the way of all boundaries.
“[Antifa’s fighting] the inherent danger of fascists organizing,” said Mark Bray, a Dartmouth historian who’s penned a book on the rise of thuggish protests in American, The Hill reported. “The argument is that it needs to be stopped immediately because if you let it grow, that poses a danger to society.”
So does that mean conservatives who see progressives as a rapidly spreading cancer to U.S. society could justifiably beat members of the Democratic Party over the head to stop this danger to society?
Oh, don’t be silly.
The logic — the right to beat — only stands for leftists. Conservatives, Republicans, President Donald Trump supporters and free-market capitalists aren’t allowed the same violent privileges. Why not? Because in the minds of the antifa, in the views of the left, conservatives are pretty much white nationalists, without the torches.
